Description/Responsibilities:DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Direct the church choir or Praise and Worship Team on Sunday mornings and special worship events in the absence of an appointed church choir director and assist with other musical performances by church members or guests. B. Plan and lead church choir rehearsal in the absence of an appointed church choir director and lead and rehearse with the church Praise Team, if established. C. Consult with the Senior Pastor or designee concerning Sunday and special sermons; research and select music appropriate for that sermon, worship activity or special event after consulting with the Senior Pastor or designee. D. Coordinate with the Senior Pastor or designee all assigned responsibilities of the worship service in a timely and effective manner. E. Work with the appropriate committees, officers and church members to coordinate the overall activities of the Sunday or special worship service or other assigned program F. Plan and organize concerts, musicals, cantatas, dramas and similar events including special Christmas and Easter events and consult with the Senior Pastor or designee and appropriate persons to implement the events. G. Present annual choir budget request. H. Coordinate with the Administrative Assistant in choir related matter in the development of the church bulletin and newsletter in a timely and effective manner. I. Oversee sound and light technicians and work with others persons to produce quality tapes and films of church services or other related events as determined by the Senior Pastor. J. Other duties associated with the worship services as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Requirements/Qualifications:The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to lead the congregation in a well balanced worship experience appealing to all age groups. The Worship Leader should have excellent organizational skills and possess the ability to task organize and follow up to ensure tasks are being met. Generally, this person will produce and direct the entire worship service and serve as the music leader for services. This person should possess vast experience in the areas of leading and coordinating church services and be a visionary that can communicate goals and expectations, and have a desire to share Gods love in and outside of the church family. Ideally, this person should be educated in the musicology or music ministry. This is a 12 hour position and salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
