Communication at Second Pres The primary objective of this position is to coordinate and produce communication that supports the church’s life and ministry. Mediums include everything from graphic arts to a weekly printed newsletter to social media. It also includes both communicating internally with a multigenerational congregation and externally with a diverse community which includes two universities and State Farm corporate headquarters. Core Job Requirements Visual • Create graphic arts for ministry events, sermon series, website and outreach efforts. • Build and maintain a visual identity for the church and for church events and activities. • Photograph church events and integrate into church communication when fitting Print • Coordinate the publication of weekly printed announcements via a weekly newsletter. • Coordinate the publication of a quarterly all-church printed newsletter. • Ensure a consistent voice and tone for publications. • Coordinate other special printed materials such as the annual report. Web • Coordinate the publication of a weekly e-newsletter correlating with the weekly printed newsletter. • Edit and update content on the church’s website • Engage congregation and community via social media
Qualifications • Personal o Commitment to communicating Christ and the mission of the church universal with others o Comfortable working in a large church environment • Education o Bachelor’s degree required o Communication or graphic arts emphasis preferred • Experience o Adobe CS5 proficiency required o Microsoft Office product proficiency preferred o Graphic design skills required
