Asbury University Selects New Food Service Provider

Fresh Ideas brings expertise to the table as dining services partner

March 20, 2024

With a focus on student engagement, technology, and fresh food, Asbury University has selected Fresh Ideas Food Service as its dining service partner effective for the Fall 2024 semester. Fresh Ideas shares a bold vision of an engaging, healthy and enjoyable community dining experience for the Asbury campus.

“After a lengthy and thorough process involving student leaders and administrators, we came to a strong consensus to bring Fresh Ideas to our campus,” said Asbury University Vice President of Student Life & Dean of Students Dr. Sarah Thomas ’93 Baldwin. “We can’t wait to taste and enjoy their take on fresh, modern food this fall. Students are going to love the new options and experience tasty meals with extended hours.”

Pioneer College Caterers provided Asbury University with excellent service and food for decades, and the Administration offers gratitude for their contribution to community life during this time.

Asbury’s new dining program will introduce new culinary trends, exciting renovations and engaging dining programs for students. Asbury and Fresh Ideas will partner for the journey of food, building community and nourishing the bodies and minds of students.

“The Fresh Ideas team brings an innovative mindset to the student dining experience with an emphasis on quality,” said Asbury University President Dr. Kevin Brown. “I look forward to partnering with them in all the various ways we invest in community at Asbury University, which includes our dining services.”

Fresh Ideas’ dining technology and mobile app is an addition the Asbury diners will look forward to as it allows students to check out with their phones using facial recognition “selfies.” Fresh Ideas’ ability to mix high-end technology and respond to the desires of their diners has helped them rise above the competition. FoodService Director Magazine recently highlighted Fresh Ideas as one of six companies to watch because of their innovative approach to dining.

“With a focus on a holistic engaging student experience, Asbury continually strives to provide a quality and innovative education for their students,” said Kris Lensmeyer, Chief Innovation & Experience Officer at Fresh Ideas. “Our new partnership aligns perfectly with that philosophy. Our team is excited to be a part of the Asbury University family and looks forward to implementing new concepts, dynamic menus and fresh approaches to the campus dining experience.”
