Margaret Park Smith joined the Asbury University faculty in the fall of 2008. Prior to Asbury, she was an adjunct instructor at RMCA+D in Denver, CO. She and her husband Josh collaborate on a line of porcelain vessels produced under the name Dovetail Ceramics. Between 2005-2012, they designed and distributed these dishes to boutiques, galleries and individuals throughout the country. Their clients have included the Orange County Museum of Art, Youngblood Art Gallery in Atlanta and Urban Outfitters.
After a brief hiatus, Dovetail Ceramics will re-launch this summer, presenting a new collection of dishes inspired by their creative research.
Professor Park focuses on contemporary studio ceramic practices as related to design, food presentation, material culture and photographic imaging processes on clay.
