Asbury University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced in June 2019 that Ben Andrews, Men's Soccer Head Coach and Luce Center Facilities Director, has been named Assistant Athletic Director.

Andrews, a 2006 AU graduate, who is entering his 10th season as the Men's Soccer Head Coach and 14th year on the Athletics Staff will begin his expanded role immediately.

"Ben has embraced the new vision for Asbury Athletics with great energy and passion," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Whitworth. "He is a talented and dedicated athletic administrator who has led by example. Ben's appointment as Assistant AD is an important step in continuing the growth of intercollegiate athletics at Asbury. Everyone involved in #TeamAU will benefit from his leadership and vision."

"I am beyond grateful for this new opportunity to witness how God will continue to grow our department and use our athletes and coaches in the coming years. I'm honored to be considered for this role and am excited to keep striving to make Asbury University Athletics a top destination for athletes looking for a premier academic university as well as a highly competitive athletic program", said Andrews.

I'd like to thank Mark Whitworth for this opportunity as well as Dr. Kevin Brown for catching our vision for this department. Another big thanks to our staff (both Luce and Men's Soccer). It's a great time to be part of #TeamAU as we embark on a new era for Asbury University Athletics."

Andrews is no stranger when it comes to AU Athletics. He was a four-year starter and two-year Captain on the men's soccer team. Andrews was also selected an NCCAA All-American throughout his playing career.

He began his coaching career with the Eagles as an assistant men's soccer coach from 2006-2010, and then took over the head coaching duties in the spring of 2010.

Additionally, Andrews also served as the Luce Center supervisor from 2007-2010, and currently serves as an Asbury Adjunct Faculty member. His parents and four siblings are also Asbury alumni.
