Why study Actuarial Mathematics at Asbury University?

As an Actuarial Mathematics major you will receive a Christ-centered, student-focused education that will provide you with both the mathematical and business background needed to succeed in the industry.

In recent years, the need for additional analytical and technical skills in financial and risk analysis has grown significantly. The technical nature of modern financial and economic analysis requires a strong mathematical and computational background, in addition to strong skills in business and economics. The marketplace is demanding this new combination of skills.

Your Actuarial Mathematics studies at Asbury University are unique from opportunities offered by other institutions. AU’s Foundations offers you the resources to think deeply and engage society, while relationships with professors, camaraderie with your peers, and numerous opportunities for direct experience give you a passion for professional and career success.

What is the Actuarial Mathematics major like?

Actuarial Math majors prepare to take the actuarial exams by taking courses such as:

  • Principles of Finance

The Hamann-Ray Science Center is home to the Mathematics Department classrooms and faculty offices. You will take accounting, business and economics courses with The Howard Dayton School of Business, which is located in Morrison Hall.
