Asbury University’s Dayton School of Business and Compass Financial Ministry have reaffirmed their partnership, strengthening their shared commitment to business education, biblical financial stewardship and practical opportunities for students and families.
As part of this renewed commitment, Compass will offer a summer 2027 internship in Kentucky to one Asbury student. The organizations are also collaborating on a Money and Marriage seminar scheduled for Feb. 11, 2027. The seminar will use Compass resources to help participants strengthen their relationships and apply biblical wisdom to their finances.
The partnership builds on a shared heritage through Howard Dayton, founder of Compass Financial Ministry and namesake of Asbury’s Dayton School of Business. His commitment to helping individuals understand and apply biblical teachings about money continues to influence both organizations.
Through their longstanding relationship, Asbury students have benefited from Compass’ teaching, resources and investment in their education. Each year, Asbury’s Dayton Scholars attend the Compass Global conference, where they learn alongside Christian leaders who integrate financial stewardship with discipleship.
Compass’ curriculum, known to Asbury students as the Give, Save & Spend class, also plays an important role in helping students apply biblical financial principles to everyday decisions.
Our shared connection to Howard Dayton gives this relationship a special foundation."
“It has been a joy to welcome Asbury’s Dayton Scholars to our conference and see students engage with biblical financial principles. We look forward to deepening that relationship through the summer 2027 internship in Kentucky and through opportunities to serve families together.”
Robin Lim, Dean of Asbury’s Dayton School of Business, expressed gratitude for Compass’ continued investment in the Asbury community.
Asbury has been richly blessed by Compass, both through the welcome extended to our Dayton Scholars each year and through resources that help our students connect faith with everyday financial decisions."
“Give, Save & Spend has been an outstanding class, making biblical stewardship practical and accessible. We share a wonderful heritage through Howard Dayton, and I’m grateful to Brian and the Compass team as we build on that foundation to serve our students and families.”
Looking ahead, Asbury and Compass plan to explore additional opportunities for collaboration in financial education, student development and community engagement. The organizations will announce additional details about the Money and Marriage seminar closer to the event.
