Asbury University’s Equine Studies Department recently received a $5,950 equipment donation from Magnus Magnetica, adding new resources for horse care and hands-on student learning at the University’s Equine Center.

Henry Siegel, CEO and Founder of Magnus Magnetica, donated a HERO PEMF system and accompanying equine therapy accessories to the program. The equipment uses pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, commonly known as PEMF, as a noninvasive tool designed to support circulation, reduce soreness and assist the body’s natural recovery processes.

The donation includes a HERO PICO unit, a large therapy loop, equine wings, magnetic paddles and discs, hoof therapy equipment, an equine sleeve, extension cables and additional accessories.

For Asbury’s Equine Studies program, the equipment provides another tool for supporting the health and comfort of horses used in instruction while also introducing students to practices they may encounter in professional equine settings.

The gift strengthens Asbury’s commitment to experiential learning by giving students direct access to equine wellness technology while helping the program provide thoughtful, proactive care for its horses.

Assistant Professor of Equine and Equine Center Coordinator Stephanie Keeley helped facilitate the donation and shared her gratitude for the partnership.

“This donation gives us a greater opportunity to care for and support the horses who give so much to our students each day. These horses are an integral part of our students’ education, growth, and development, and this gift allows us to continue providing them with the care they deserve.”

The HERO system will allow faculty and students to incorporate PEMF therapy into appropriate care routines for horses experiencing muscle soreness or recovering from injury. Through supervised use of the equipment, students can also deepen their understanding of equine anatomy, wellness and responsible horse management.

Asbury’s Equine Studies program emphasizes learning through direct experience, giving students opportunities to work closely with horses while developing practical skills in horsemanship, management and care. Donations such as this one expand the tools available to faculty as they prepare students for careers and service within the equine industry.

“As a Christian university, we recognize that caring for these animals is both a privilege and a responsibility,” Keeley said. “We are called to be good stewards of the blessings God has entrusted to us, including the animals in our care. We are thankful for the way Christ continues to bless our program through generous supporters who share our commitment to our students, our horses, and our mission.”

Magnus Magnetica hand-delivered the equipment to Asbury’s Equine Center as part of the company’s Healing HERO donation initiative.

The gift also reflects the important role outside partners play in strengthening Asbury’s academic programs.

Through the generosity of Siegel and Magnus Magnetica, Asbury Equine Studies students will gain additional exposure to contemporary equine wellness practices while faculty continue caring for the horses that make the program’s experiential education possible.
