From Move-In Day and Worship on the Green to Asbury’s Got Talent and the Welcome Back Bash, Welcome Weekend gives students four days to discover campus, meet their community and start their Asbury journey.

The countdown to a new academic year has begun! Asbury University welcomes new and transfer students to campus for Fall 2026 Welcome Weekend, August 20-23. The weekend combines important preparations with plenty of opportunities for students to meet classmates, connect with faculty and staff and experience life at Asbury before classes begin Monday, August 24.

Welcome Weekend is one of the most exciting times of the year because we get to welcome students into the Asbury community and watch them begin to find their place here.”

“From the moment they arrive on campus, our hope is that every student feels known, supported and excited about all that God has in store for their Asbury journey.”

Move-In Day kicks off Thursday, August 20. Residential students can check in and move into their residence halls from 8 a.m. to noon during assigned arrival times. Student leaders and members of the campus community will help families unload and get students settled. Students should complete all financial and Health Services requirements before arriving.

Here’s a look at what students can expect throughout the weekend:

  • Thursday (August 20): Move into residence halls, complete semester check-in, pick up class T-shirts and parking stickers, enjoy a complimentary family lunch and attend the President’s Welcome. The evening brings residence hall and commuter meetings before students gather for AU on Deck, featuring music, tacos, Ale-8, lawn games and volleyball. The Valiant Class Photo & Student-Parent Farewell will take place at 5:15 p.m.
  • Friday (August 21): Students start with worship before attending academic sessions, meeting faculty advisors and connecting with their First-Year Experience (FYE) groups. Worship on the Green and a late-night pizza party close out the day.
  • Saturday (August 22): Campus resource tours help students learn where to find key services before FYE groups prepare for an evening lip-sync showdown at Asbury’s Got Talent.
  • Sunday (August 23): Students can worship at local churches, visit faculty or staff homes with their FYE groups and join returning students for the Welcome Back Bash on Reasoner Green.
Welcome Weekend gives new students the connections, resources and experiences they need to begin their Asbury journey with confidence and a strong sense of community.
