Asbury University Receives $200,000 Grant for New Student Success Center

Asbury University recently received a $200,000 grant from the T.W. Lewis Foundation to launch a Center for Student Success in the fall of 2025. This two-year partnership ($100,000 per year) co-sponsors: a leadership speaker series, young alumni “launching well” retreats (for alumni who graduated within 0-5 years), use of Indigo career assessments, distribution of the Amazon #1 bestseller “Solid Ground” on Kindle, and the Dayton School of Business (DSB) Capstone Project course.

“Through the extraordinary generosity of the T.W. Lewis Foundation, Asbury University will offer new forms of student value,” said Asbury University President Dr. Kevin Brown.

Coordinated through the Asbury University Catalyst Center, the T.W. Lewis Foundation Center for Student Success seeks to increase self-awareness in students leading them to lives of honesty, integrity, hard work, reliability, achievement, and compassion.

“Through the Center, students will increase their self-awareness as they engage with the Indigo assessment and discuss outcomes with faculty members and mentors,” said Michelle Kratzer, who serves as the associate dean of the Catalyst Center. “The Business Capstone and Launching Well Retreats will help seniors and recent graduates as they discern how they can best contribute to the Kingdom of God through the world of work.”

The Asbury University Catalyst Center provides opportunities for students to apply learning outside of the classroom, with offices including Career & Calling, Study Abroad, Cross Cultural Engagement (CCE), and the Asbury Outreach Coalition (Asbury University’s community service). Students can participate in internships, study abroad, service learning, mentorships, and cross-cultural experiences.
