Asbury University will join the Lexington Legends on Friday, Aug. 15, for a community-centered celebration during Faith & Family Night at Legends Ballpark. The event, which begins at 7 p.m., offers an evening of entertainment, fellowship and school spirit for Asbury students, alumni, employees and friends throughout the region.
The University’s involvement includes sponsorship of the night’s programming, a presence from the Admissions and Athletics departments, and special appearances from key university representatives. Asbury University President Dr. Kevin Brown will throw the ceremonial first pitch at 6:30 p.m. alongside members of the Asbury Baseball team, who will also participate in pregame warmups and on-field promotions throughout the evening.
“This night will be a great opportunity to fellowship and enjoy some baseball in a lively atmosphere,” Brown said. “There will also be a special appearance by our Asbury Baseball Team. It should be a great evening as we prepare to enter into a new academic year!”
This fun evening will feature live music and will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show. Amenities for families and children will include the Kids Zone, a full playground, an inflatable slide, and more. The night will conclude with a fireworks display, adding a memorable finish to a community-focused evening.
As part of the festivities, the Asbury Admissions team will host a branded booth at the stadium entrance beginning at 5 p.m. Representatives will share information about the University’s academic offerings, student life, and the value of a Christ-centered education. The booth will include promotional materials, giveaways and opportunities to engage with students and families.
Athletics staff will be present during the event, with the goal of highlighting the life of an NCAA Division III student athlete.
