Asbury University is pleased to announce Bert Jones ’89 as the Director of Alumni Relations. This position is instrumental in engaging the more than 22,000 alumni who live and serve all around the world. Overseeing the annual Reunion Weekend in June, working with the Alumni Board and investing in key churches and para-church organizations will enable Jones to meet and serve this multigenerational alumni network.
“Bert Jones will be an incredible addition to our team and I’m excited for our alumni and friends to get to know him better,” said Dr. Mark Troyer, Vice President of Institutional Advancement & Strategic Partnerships. “His background in ministry and leadership development, along with his great love of people, will serve our Asbury family well.”
“From the moment I stepped on the campus in 1985, Asbury has always held a special place in my heart,” said Jones. “My life and ministry over the last 36 years have been greatly impacted by the training I received, the spiritual influence in my life and connections I made at Asbury. I look forward to joining the team and serving our alumni around the world.”
Jones served with the Christian Medical and Dental Association as their Vice President of Missions and Member Care and was the Teaching Pastor at South Bristol Church. He has been a lead pastor, a president of GO International and a youth pastor. He is ordained with the Missionary Church and is the author of Dig In: A Daily Discipleship Devotional for Digging into God’s Word. He and his wife, Cheryl Glenn ’89, have three children, Josh ’14 (Kali); Allyson and Aaron ‘20 and two grandchildren. They represent a legacy of Asburians and are excited to partner with Asbury in this new way.
