Will Sallee ’10 and Laura Perry ’10 Sallee, recipients of Asbury University’s 2025 Young Alum Award, actively serve Christ through their ministry in Antequera, Spain. Their work demonstrates a deep commitment to sharing the gospel with young adults and immigrants in a culture that doesn’t emphasize a personal relationship with Jesus.
“We currently serve with TMS Global, an organization that trains and supports global workers,” said Will and Laura. “TMS Global equips us to lead disciple-making efforts among young people and immigrant communities. The organization also supports our family life by offering strong member care, which helps us thrive as we raise our two young sons while serving overseas.”
God first called Will to serve in Spain in 2008 during his time at Asbury. That call became reality in 2018 when he and Laura moved to Spain to do campus ministry together. Growing up Catholic and having a shared passion for seeing awakening in post-Christian Europe, they focus their energy on building spiritual foundations where few exist.
In Antequera, they have established a non-profit called “Meeting Point,” where they represent Jesus to a largely unchurched population and empower the next generation in Spain and Europe to boldly follow Christ and discover their identity and calling. Through Bible studies, community youth events, coaching in a volleyball league, and serving the local church they form relationships with young adults and help them explore what it means to follow Christ.
Will and Laura welcome two-three young adults from North America and other parts of Europe each year as part of a discipleship training gap-year internship. These volunteer interns serve in the ongoing ministries in Spain and receive discipleship and contextualized missions training from the Sallees and other facilitators. The Sallees also welcome other missionaries into their home, offering rest and encouragement to those in need.
They continue to maintain strong ties to Asbury. They host alumni in their home, and organize regular gatherings with mentors, friends, and donors from the Asbury community. They see their time at Asbury as foundational to their spiritual and professional development. As students and staff, they received intentional investment from others and now carry that forward in their ministry.
To students considering a call to missions, they encourage action rooted in faith.
“The community at Asbury was transformational for both of us, as students and later as staff,” they said. “It shaped our spiritual journeys and formed not just our careers or callings, but our hearts. It equipped us to invest in others just as others had intentionally invested in us. We like the principle of ‘Ready, Go, Set’: Prepare as much as you can but don’t be afraid to step out in faith and join God in His mission as you continue to humbly learn and grow in the process.”
Will and Laura’s life and work offer a clear example of the values Asbury seeks to instill in its graduates. Their faithful service in Spain shows how young alumni can use every part of life to build God’s Kingdom.
