Asbury Admissions Visit Specialist Receives NACCAP Award

Asbury University is proud to celebrate Eswin Monroy ’23, Visit Specialist in the Admissions Office, who recently received the NACCAP Rookie of the Year Award. Presented annually at the North American Coalition for Christian Admission Professionals (NACCAP) conference, this honor recognizes outstanding professionals with fewer than two years of service who have made a significant impact on their institution and the field of Christian higher education.

Monroy, who earned his degree in Theatre from Asbury in 2023, joined the Admissions team shortly after graduation. In just over a year, he has become a vital presence in the office, known for his hospitality, attention to detail, and heartfelt care for visiting families. As the first point of contact for many prospective students, Monroy plays a central role in shaping the initial impression of Asbury.

“Eswin is such an integral part of what we do in admissions every single day,” said Jarred Miller, Director of Undergraduate Residential Admissions. “He welcomes all of our guests with a smile and is often the first impression our students and their families have of Asbury University. I am so proud of his time in our office and the growth that he has allowed to happen personally and professionally in the last year and a half.”

Monroy expressed gratitude and surprise upon receiving the award. “I was not expecting to receive an award at NACCAP,” he shared. “I had been questioning if my work was even making an impact. I asked God for a reminder of why I’m here, and He responded. This award serves as proof that God hears us when we rely on Him.”

He was quick to share the honor with his team. “I didn’t win this award alone,” Monroy said. “I’m thankful to God for allowing me to work at Asbury, for my incredible team, and for their constant kindness and support. My favorite part of working at Asbury is the community and the opportunity I have to connect with prospective families and students.”

Jennifer McChord, Vice President of Enrollment & Marketing, praised his dedication and creativity: “Eswin customizes every guest experience with care and precision. His professionalism, dependability, and warm presence make him a standout among new professionals in the field.”

NACCAP honors rookies who go above and beyond, not simply by the numbers, but through meaningful contributions to their institutions and the mission of Christian higher education. Monroy’s work at Asbury exemplifies these values, making him a deserving recipient of this national recognition.
