Introducing ... the Eagle Outlet, Asbury's New Campus Store
WILMORE, Ky. — Students returning to the Asbury University campus for the Fall 2014 semester in a few weeks will notice at least one noteworthy improvement right away.
Over the summer, the campus post office (CPO) and store moved into a renovated space on the first floor of the Hamann-Ray Science Center. For the store, newly named the “Eagle Outlet,” the move reflects a change to a larger location as well as a transition to providing all textbooks online through www.ecampus.com/asburyu.
Students taking summer classes were the first to experience Asbury’s virtual bookstore and provided feedback that will help fine-tune the experience for the larger group this fall.
“We saw the opportunity to combine the store and CPO, move to a new location and create a more modern operation for both the Store and CPO,” said David Trammell, store manager. “Our virtual bookstore will have all the textbooks available in various formats (new, used, rental, e-book) at competitive pricing and at a level we could not previously offer.”
The Eagle Outlet now features an attractive space for students, alumni, parents and friends to browse apparel, school supplies, cards, snacks and a variety of Asbury merchandise. The transition began soon after Commencement in May and was complete by mid-June.
“We were open for Summer Reunion and received a great deal of positive feedback,” Trammell said. “I want the Eagle Outlet to be a place where all parts of community, can feel welcome and find some things they would like to purchase.”
The Asbury CPO remains a full-service post office where students can receive and send packages and mail — campus-wide, domestic and international.
