  • Asbury professors attend Narnia Summit
    February 26, 2010
    Two Asbury professors recently attended a Narnia Summit in Los Angeles as guests of Walden Media and 20th Century Fox. Dr. Devin Brown of Asbury College’s English department and Professor Greg Bandy of the media communications department were invited to participate in a two-day event for faith leaders that focused on the upcoming release of the third Narnia film, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

  • Walden Media President’s Asbury Chapel and forum presentations now online

    Micheal Flaherty, President of Walden Media, spoke in Asbury’s Chapel at The 2009 Engaging Culture Weekend. He also participated in a special forum with Asbury’s C. S. Lewis Scholar, Dr. Devin Brown, on “The Spiritual and Character Lessons from the Narnia Films.” Both events were videotaped and edited by Asbury’s Media Com students and the clips are now available on Asbury’s online TV Channel.

  • Asbury professor to appear at Kentucky Book Fair

    Dr. Devin Brown, Asbury College English Professor and C.S. Lewis Scholar, has been invited to join 220 other authors who will be autographing their books for sale at the 27th annual Kentucky Book Fair. The Book Fair will be held at the Frankfort Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15.

  • English professor tours with “Inside Prince Caspian”

    Devin Brown, professor of English, is hitting the road this week to talk about his new book, Inside Prince Caspian: A Guide to Exploring the Return to Narnia. The newest Walt Disney Pictures installment of C.S. Lewis’s classic Chronicles of Narnia series is coming to theaters May 16.
