The Musical Comedy of Murders of 1940 opens Nov. 6
WILMORE, KY—The theatre and cinema performance program presents “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” Nov. 6-8 and Nov. 13-15. All shows are at 7:30 p.m. in Doddridge-Holland Theatre. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the campus bookstore.
The short comedy (not really a musical) was written by John Bishop and first performed on Broadway in 1987. This comic play, which pokes fun at many of the 1940s murder mysteries, takes place in a mansion of Elsa Von Grossenknueten and her maid, Helsa.
After Elsa’s invited guests arrive for a backer’s audition to the Musical White House Merry-Go-Round, bodies start turning up. This production evokes non-stop laughter as those assembled try to unlock the mystery.
