Mr. Jason Clayton – “Too Good to Be True?”

October 22, 2013

Scripture reference:  Isaiah 55:1-13

"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” – Isaiah 55:12 (NIV)

Have you ever watched an infomercial promising to meet a deep need you have in one easy step? Ever purchased something because it was guaranteed to solve a problem you have, later to be disappointed by the product? Have some of these experiences or broken promises by those closest to you in your life increased your skepticism about trusting others?

Although marketers and sales professionals will persuade us to purchase products that fail, and while those we love the most here on Earth inevitably will let us down multiple times in our lives, rest assured God’s promise of forgiveness of our sins through grace in Jesus Christ is no gimmick. His grace in the death and resurrection of Christ is offered free of charge to all and you can’t pay to receive it. May you find freedom in His mercy this day, and every day, as you bathe in the abundant and unfathomable amount of grace that is freely given to you in Christ. Freely accept this amazing gift in the forgiveness of your sins and walk in the abundant life God has promised to you so that you may “go out in joy and be led forth in peace” as “the mountains and hills will burst into song before you.” Oh, what a sweet sound and amazing gift His faithfulness provides!
