Mr. Jason Clayton – “A Matter of the Heart”

January 03, 2014

Scripture reference:  II Corinthians 9:6-15

“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – II Corinthians 9:7

In other words, God doesn’t NEED your money as He is the masterful Creator and sovereign Lord over all things. He wants your genuine heart and your responsiveness to give what He has blessed you with in time, talent, and treasure to meet the needs of His kingdom on earth. In doing so, “you will abound in every good work.”

Paul shares with the Corinthians in verse 10, “He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” God blesses the obedient; those serving out of genuine hearts seeking to honor Him with their lives in their daily tasks and interactions with others. As you bless others in these ways, He will bless you. “Thanks be to God for this indescribable gift!” (v. 15).

CORNERSTONE:  Stewardship
