April 17, 2024 — The annual SEARCH Symposium, held April 8-9 on campus at Asbury, allowed students, faculty, staff and guests to share their research and academic passion with their peers.
April 24, 2023 — In April, the annual SEARCH Symposium and competition showcased student research in the Shaw Collaborative Learning Center to celebrate innovative ideas in art and research through conversation across the liberal arts.
April 19, 2023 — During March and April, Asbury University hosted two academics whose research interests surround biblical literacy in relation to tradition and culture: Dr. Jessica Hooten Wilson and Dr. Karen Swallow Prior.
November 5, 2021 — On October 26, SEARCH held an event titled “Voyage to the Galapagos: A Perspective on Faith and Evolution” hosted by Professor of Biology Dr. Ben Brammell and Professor of English Dr. Ben Strait as part of SEARCH’s Christianity and Science program. On November 2, the Kinlaw Library hosted a SEARCH-sponsored panel event titled “Curious Minds: Research in Today’s World” with Janet Dean, professor of psychology, Sean Gaffney and associate professor in the Media, Journalism & Digital Storytelling department.
October 27, 2021 — The Asbury University Honors Program (AUHP) held its inaugural event – the first of a three-part lecture series on human dignity and value. Dr. Chris Bounds, professor of Christian doctrine at Indiana Wesleyan University, Wesley Seminary, and former Asbury professor, gave a lecture titled “The Imago Dei, Incarnation, and Human Dignity” for 80 guests in the Kinlaw Library Boardroom at the SEARCH-sponsored event.
February 20, 2020 — Allison Irvin ’19 Hall’s article from the 2019 SEARCH competition appears in the latest issue of The Lamp-Post, a special edition that features articles from emerging scholars.
