Description/Responsibilities:Summary: The Global Internal Audit Intern will assist in evaluating existing internal control documentation, testing current processes and procedures, performing substantive testing of financial transactions, and providing recommendations. The mission of the Global Internal Audit Activity at Tempur-Pedic International, Inc. is to provide independent, reasonable objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the company’s operations. The Global Internal Audit Intern is expected to constructively work with the Finance and other departments to improve internal controls and processes across the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Assist in interviewing individuals in various financial and operational positions regarding day-to-day duties and controls 2) Document processes in consistent format 3) Test compliance with company policies and procedures 4) Test compliance with applicable laws and regulations 5) Assist with all aspects of an audit project including: planning and risk assessment, audit test work, documentation and audit wrap up 6) Recommend process and policy improvements 7) Follow up to ensure that approved recommendations are implemented 8) All other duties as assigned

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: 1) Must be a Junior/Senior level or Graduate Student. 2) Must remain in academic good standing throughout the internship. 3) Excellent command of English language, usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills. 4) Knowledge and experience in Microsoft products - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Education and/or Experience: Accounting major with a GPA of 3.2 or higher who is available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week while attending classes; 40 hours per week during breaks. No travel will be required.
