Director of Children and Family Ministry to the Community and Church

Qualifications: • Love children • Love Jesus with proven testimony • Able to work with people, motivate and negotiate for the higher purpose. • Believes in the vision of Westwood United Methodist Church. • Bible background, missional understanding of culture as 50% of work is in community • Willing to work with parents/guardians/community to communicate well for the best interest of children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ • Able to work in diversity and with other staff members • Strong work ethic and teamwork displayed Responsibilities: • Establish a presence in one or more apartment complex(s) in year 1 • Work primarily in the WUMC Mission Priority Area • Establish a children’s ministry through the week with: o Community and Church focus o Zip code o Age appropriate • Coordinate ‘VBS in a Box’ expansion into community • Establish teams for accomplishing various needs • Responsible for Sunday and weekly children’s ministry (K-6) • Participate in worship experiences/retreats/trips • Coordinate Upward (This is a pioneer project, an entrepreneur project, an apostle project)
