Description/Responsibilities: 
In August of 2013 Feeding America will be placing our 4th cohort of Child Hunger Corps Members in the field for a 2-year placement. Corps members are placed at Feeding America member food banks to assess and develop local capacity to execute program models targeted towards the alleviation of child hunger. The Fellowship includes a $24,200 annual stipend, medical/dental insurance and paid vacation days. Responsibilities 1. Work with host food bank to develop a needs assessment to identify gaps in child feeding in the local community, and programs to address these gaps. 2. Develop and implement a program(s) that seeks to increase children’s access to nutritious food either in the summer, afterschool, on weekends, and/or at home. 3. Document the process of designing and implementing the program(s) to promote replication and sustainability. 4. Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the implemented program(s) to assess the successes and make recommendations for program improvement. 5. Build community partnerships that facilitate the development and/or expansion of child hunger programs. 6. Recruit volunteers to assist in the operation of child hunger program(s). 7. Participate in all Feeding America led Child Hunger Corps trainings and other meetings as required. 8. Participate in host food bank orientation and work as part of the host food bank’s team throughout the program. 9. Contribute to Child Hunger Corps blog on a monthly basis. 10. Be an active participant in the Child Hunger Corps community.
Requirements/Qualifications: 
1.Volunteer or community service experience 2.Ability to take initiative and demonstrated leadership experience/skills 3.Familiarity with anti-hunger/anti-poverty initiatives 4.Ability to work and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds 5.Ability to work in a team and within broad coalitions 6.Excellent oral and written communication skills 7.Strong analytical skills 8.Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn new technological applications 9.Valid driver’s license 10.Committed to organizational mission of ending hunger 11.BA/BS required
