Description/Responsibilities: 
Summer Ministry Opportunity with the United Methodist Children’s Home of North Georgia Jesse’s House Summer Intern Work with children and youth! Minister through your gifts and talents! Participate in vocational exploration! Live in community with other interns led by a House Pastor! Commitment: May 24-July 27 – includes one week of Staff Training Pay: $2100 (interns will raise support to cover their pay) (room and board are provided) As a ministry of the United Methodist Children’s Home Jesse’s House is a safe, holistic summer and after-school program through which elementary and middle school children, youth, and their families connect with the wholeness of God’s love, churches engage in ministry, and young adults grow as leaders. The summer interns will be immersed in leadership development and growth opportunities weekly, Sunday afternoon-Friday afternoon. The primary focus will be collaborating with other interns, staff and volunteers to plan and implement activities in a summer day camp experience to consistently and creatively engage children and youth at one of three Jesse’s House sites in underserved parts of the Atlanta area. Interns will work directly with children and have opportunities to share their gifts and talents. They will live together in community and be led by a House Pastor to grow in leadership and spiritual development. Participation in nightly community dinner and various community activities will be part of the job responsibilities. Additionally interns will participate in a vocational development program designed to help them explore a variety of career opportunities.
Requirements/Qualifications: 
Interns will raise support to cover their summer pay. Applicants need to have completed at least one year of college and be at least 18 years of age by May 31, 2013.
