Lexington Christian Academy and Christian Academy of Louisville meet on the gridiron at the new White, Greer & Maggard Stadium

LEXINGTON, Ky. (September 9, 2022) – Tonight, Asbury University will sponsor the Asbury Bowl which will be played between Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) and the Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) at LCA’s White, Greer & Maggard Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

“Asbury University has endeavored to partner with like-minded Christian schools in our region to keep talented students in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, promote our institutions, and foster the minds, hearts, and hands of tomorrow’s leaders,” said Asbury President Dr. Kevin Brown. “In this spirit, we are excited to support and highlight Lexington Christian Academy and the Christian Academy of Louisville by sponsoring this year’s Asbury Bowl.”

Asbury has partnered with LCA and CAL to provide students who choose Asbury for their college journey the same tuition rate they pay for their high school education. The Asbury Christian Education Partnership Program (CEP) provides access to a continuation of a Christ-centered education while maintaining the cost of that education for the students and their families.

“Asbury University is proud to sponsor such a special evening that will showcase two exceptional Christian football programs,” said Mark Whitworth, Asbury’s Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics & University Strategic Communications. “These young men and their coaches are dedicated to who embrace good sportsmanship on the field and follow God’s calling for them as servant leaders off the field.”

The Asbury Bowl will coincide with the dedication of LCA’s new turf field at White, Greer & Maggard Stadium located on the Rose Campus at 450 West Reynolds Road in Lexington. A formal ribbon cutting will take place at 7:15pm.
