Overview 

The Center for Academic Excellence is a central hub for various academic support services providing what students need to become confident, independent learners. Our staff of writing consultants, peer academic tutors, and academic coaches help students do better in their classes. The Center for Academic Excellence services are available to all Asbury University students as part of their enrollment. 

Job Skills/Requirements 

The Center for Academic Excellence invites applications for the Student Manager of Publicity and Digital Content. This individual will design and create publicity materials for CAE services, especially study nights, exam review events, and late-night study sessions, among others, as needed, and upload materials on various digital platforms, including the CAE Instagram and Asbury University’s digital signage. This individual reports to Joanna Crabtree. Other requirements are as follows: 

  • Develop engaging, exciting, and helpful digital content to increase awareness of and engagement with CAE services using the CAE’s Canva account. 
  • Manage the CAE Instagram with discretion and professionalism. Upload new content regularly (at least once a week). This can include study night schedule reminders, introductions to CAE student employees, study tips, and exam review reminders.  
  • Upload digital signage through Asbury’s IT webpage. 
  • Anticipate publicity needs by tracking upcoming CAE events several weeks in advance. 

Knowledge and Skills 

The Student Manager of Publicity and Digital Content will be creative and innovative, and will use these skills in an independent, self-directed, and time sensitive manner. Must have excellent written communication skills and be able to connect with audiences digitally. 

Basic computer skills are necessary. Experience with Canva, Asbury IT services, and CAE resources is a plus. The Student Manager of Publicity and Digital Content must be a full-time student and in the work study program at Asbury University. 

Scheduling 

The tasks required for this position must be completed in ten or less hours per pay period, or five or less hours per week. These hours can be logged at any time and this individual will turn in a task sheet detailing what tasks were done within the pay period.  While this is a remote position the individual is expected to be in contact with Joanna Crabtree throughout the semester.
