Position Overview:

The Dayton School of Business at Asbury University seeks applicants to serve as an adjunct instructor for accounting courses that will be taught in-person on campus in Wilmore, KY or online. Courses include managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, income tax, and accounting for MBA students. Ideal candidates will have at least a graduate degree in business or accounting, three or more years of experience in an accounting position and hold a CPA license.

 

Responsibilities include:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge in the assigned teaching discipline.
  2. Provide high quality teaching to students.
  3. Teach courses as contracted each session and proactively prepare for scheduled courses.
  4. Conduct classes in accordance with established course outlines and approved instructional materials.
  5. Be accessible to assist students with questions and in completion of assignments as delineated in the course syllabus, included ACA accommodations.
  6. Meet with faculty mentor frequently throughout the semester.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • PhD or DBA in accounting; ABD will be considered if actively working on dissertation, or
    • PhD or DBA in a business discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in accounting or,
    • Master’s degree in accounting or MBA with a current CPA or CMA license
  • Professional and Teaching Experience:
    • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
    • Some teaching experience preferred.
