School of Communication Arts

POSITION: A search is in process to secure a qualified faculty candidate for a vacant position for the Summer or Fall of 2014. The appointment is for a full-time, tenure track Communication Arts position.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A Ph.D. or M.F.A. in an area of Communication preferred. Seeking a candidate with experience in Communication, public relations and social media. A commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality is necessary, with faculty innovation and creativity highly valued. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

INSTITUTIONAL COMMITMENT: Candidates must give evidence of an evangelical Christian commitment, and be in harmony with the College’s Statement of Faith and Mission.

ACADEMIC RANK: Dependent on qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Depending on experience, courses may include public relations, social media, introduction to communication, interpersonal communication, and intercultural communication. Teaching load is 12 hours each semester, with optional summer teaching available.

COMPENSATION:  Compensation is competitive and dependent upon education and experience. Benefits include retirement (TIAA/CREF) and insurance plans.

SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION ARTS INFORMATION:  The School of Communication Arts has over 400 students in its undergraduate program and is in the first year of a graduate program. The department houses the Communication, Journalism & Digital Storytelling, Media Communication, Worship Arts and Theatre & Cinema Performance programs with thirteen full-time faculty and two part-time faculty.
