POSITION: Full-time, tenure-track Sociology Faculty position (to also serve as Program Director) beginning August 2014. Sociology is currently in the Department of Behavioral Sciences.
QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements: A PhD in Sociology is strongly preferred. ABD will be considered. Additional selection criteria include teaching experience, passion for sociology, desire to integrate Christian faith and sociology, and proficiency in online course delivery.
INSTITUTIONAL COMMITMENT: Candidates must give evidence of an evangelical Christian commitment, and be in harmony with the Institution’s Statement of Faith and Mission. ACADEMIC RANK: Assistant/Associate Professor, depending on qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include working as Sociology Program Director, a full teaching load, scholarly and professional development, and campus and community service. (Program Director works with the Department Chair to address curricular, enrollment, and other administrative needs.)
COMPENSATION: Compensation is competitive and dependent upon education and experience. Benefits include retirement (TIAA/CREF) and insurance plans.
