Archways

2014 Dates are August 7th-12th.

Archways is a pre-orientation Wilderness Experience into the Daniel Boone National Forest open to anyone new to the Asbury Community. The trip is designed to prepare new students mentally, spiritually, and emotionally for entrance into the Asbury community. The focus of Archways is to accelerate friendships, amplify God's voice in the created world, and strengthen individual student's ability to handle challenges.

Archways provides the opportunity for students to experience outdoor adventure activities such as teambuilding initiatives, backpacking, camping, climbing, and rappelling, in a fun and welcoming environment. The expedition is intentionally sequenced to accommodate varying levels of ability among students, so prior knowledge and experience with outdoor activities is not necessary for participation.

Incoming students interesting in developing meaningful relationships with fellow classmates through shared experiences are highly encouraged to apply. Archways is commonly praised by its past participants as one of the best experiences of their entire college careers.

Unfortunately, new students participating in volleyball, soccer, cross-country and Intercultural New Student Orientation cannot be involved in Archways due to their expected participation in other activities.

Total cost: $350.00
