Archways
AUGUST 13-19, 2010
Archways is a 6-day Wilderness Excursion into the Daniel Boone National Forest that is run each fall prior to new student orientation. The trip is designed to prepare new students mentally, spiritually, and emotionally for entrance into the Asbury community. The focus of Archways is to accelerate friendships, amplify God's voice in the created world, and strengthen your ability to handle challenges.
Archways provides the opportunity to experience outdoor adventure activities such as teambuilding initiatives, backpacking, canoeing, camping, climbing, and rappelling, and is sequenced to accommodate varying abilities and levels of experience. Incoming students* who are interested in having a meaningful wilderness experience with other New Asburians are encouraged to apply.
*(Sorry, but new students participating in volleyball, soccer, cross country and Intercultural New Student Orientation cannot be involved in Archways due to their expected participation in other activities.)
Prior experience or knowledge of outdoor adventure activities is not necessary - students will be given appropriate supervision and training to adapt to the wilderness setting.
Total cost: $350.00
