• Evidence of an active and growing faith in Jesus Christ through regular worship, prayer, and Bible study • A lifestyle that reflects a commitment to Christ and that can be modeled to children and youth • An understanding of adolescent development, culture, and trends • Strong interpersonal and organizational skill as well as contagious enthusiasm for reaching out to and working with young people • Ability to reach out to, motivate and train volunteers and spread the vision of this ministry • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to use basic computer technology and social media for communication • Ability to work as part of a team with other ministry leaders, volunteers, and the Pastor • Previous training and/or experience in children’s and youth ministry – a bachelor’s degree or above in a related field desired. Background checks required. Must become Conference safe sanctuary certified after employment. • A basic understanding and adherence to United Methodist theology.
The Director of Children and Youth is responsible for the overall development, leadership, and implementation of children’s and youth activities in alignment with the vision and mission of College United Methodist Church by recruiting, equipping, and guiding volunteers and sharing the love of Christ to all involved.
