We seek A vocationally called individual who is passionate about ministry with children, families and women to provide full time creative, Christ-centered and Biblically grounded leadership for ministries with children, families and women in the context of the mission and ministry of the United Methodist Church. Desired start date: July 1 – August 1, 2013. Demonstrated success in • Leading and sustaining children’s education and discipleship ministries through Sunday School, worship, children’s clubs and age-appropriate mission involvement; • In developing relationships and ministry with families; and developing small groups, retreats and other ministries to strengthen discipleship and support among women. • A team player, builder and leader who will work with the pastors, staff and lay leadership to cast the vision for ministry with children, families and women within our congregation and in the surrounding community. • Ordained or lay person. A bachelor’s degree in education or Christian education or more from an accredited college, university, or seminary. Specific United Methodist credentialing in children’s education or family ministry is a plus. Primary Responsibilities • Giving comprehensive leadership to the children’s, family and women’s ministries of the church. • Enlist, equip and nurture leaders for these ministries. • In consultation with the Children’s Council, other teams, pastors and staff, plan, communicate and implement a calendar of children’s family and women’s ministries including children’s Sunday School, weekday children’s ministries, vacation Bible school. Nursery program, and other large group event; and women’s retreats, small groups and events. • Support and strengthen Christ-centered homes and families. • Select and utilize Biblically faithful, age-appropriate teaching and learning resources for spiritual formation. • Oversee part time director of children’s music and work collaboratively to present children’s musicals and other musical events (currently Christmas and Spring musical). • Oversee and work collaboratively with the Director of the Armstrong Chapel Pre-School. • Work collaboratively with pastors and staff to coordinate and integrate women’s ministries with other support ministries and the overall plan of adult education and discipleship of the church. • Maintain Safe Sanctuary policies with all children’s ministries. • Be present and participate in worship services. Lead Children’s Moments in worship services. Who Are We? • An intergenerational congregation of 1100 members with average weekly attendance of 450 in traditional and contemporary services. • Located in Indian Hill, a near-eastern suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio with approximately 245,000 people within a 20 minute drive of the church. Five excellent school districts exist within a ten minute drive. • A church with numerous business and community leaders from the area. • Children’s ministries currently reach approximately 110 children weekly in nursery through sixth grade; and approximately 70 women in six small groups. • A church with a 200 year history; a two year old, recently renovated education facilities; three worship spaces and a dynamic outreach to our urban neighbors.
