SEARCH Symposium Registration

To register for the upcoming SEARCH event, please fill out the form below. You will want to have all of the requested information ready when you register.

Common Registration Questions:

Q. What can I submit? I’m not sure I've done anything that would count as "research".

Any paper you did for a class or independent project at Asbury is eligible!

Q. What is the difference between registering for “participation only” and “participation and competition”?

If you register for “participation only” you will have to create a poster (poster guidelines and template here) to represent your paper and present it at the SEARCH event.

If you want to compete, you’ll need to make a poster as well as work with your faculty sponsor to make edits on your paper. The paper itself is what will be judged for the competition.

Q. Do I need a sponsoring faculty member? How do I get one?

We would suggest reaching out to a faculty member you have worked with in the past. If you are at a loss for who to contact, check our FAQ for a list of faculty members who are making themselves available. Note: as we approach the deadline, the listed faculty may have already committed to sponsoring another entrant. Please do not wait until the last minute to contact faculty about SEARCH.

Q. After I fill out the registration form, what’s next?

Once you have completed the registration form, your paper will be sent to the faculty in charge of that topic category. If your paper is approved, you will be notified of your acceptance. Then, you must create a poster to present at SEARCH that gives visual support to your project. (Poster guidelines and templates can be found in the SEARCH FAQ) Make sure to print your poster by the poster deadline: April 9th at 5pm.

Registrations are due by midnight on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.

You may submit your paper or poster now, or you can email it to research@asbury.edu by the registration deadline (April 3rd for papers, April 9th for posters).
