Asbury University recently hosted its 41st Annual All-Star Band Clinic, welcoming nearly 100 talented high school musicians to campus.

WILMORE, Ky. — Asbury University recently hosted its 41st Annual All-Star Band Clinic, welcoming nearly 100 talented high school musicians to campus for sectional classes, concerts and an experience of campus life at Asbury.

Guests stayed in the dorms at Asbury, interacted with Asbury faculty, ate meals in the cafeteria and enjoyed learning from instructors including guest conductor Dr. Michael Golemo, director of bands and chair of the Department of Music & Theatre at Iowa State University.

Music is a vital part of student life at Asbury University. Ensembles include the Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, Chorale, Men’s Glee Club, Women’s Choir, Handbell Choir and various chamber ensembles (String Ensembles, Brass Ensemble, etc.). Membership in these ensembles is open to all Asbury students, creating a vibrant musical culture that spans every major on campus.

“Asbury’s Music Department provides more than an outstanding musical education —  it also offers an amazing community,” said Dr. Glen Flanigan, a Music professor at Asbury and director of the Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble. “All-Star Band Clinic is one way we invite high school students into the Asbury experience, and many come back year after year.”
