Homeschool Students Thrive at Asbury

Asbury University is a top choice for homeschool students and families — find out why.
In Asbury's campus community, education extends far beyond the classroom.

Asbury University has long been a top choice for homeschool students and families, and Asbury’s inclusion in a recent ranking of “The Best Colleges for Homeschool Graduates” (The Best Schools) is one more confirmation of the outstanding opportunities Asbury offers. Across all majors and from many backgrounds, homeschoolers increasingly choose Asbury — here are just a few reasons why.

Residential Learning Environment

Homeschool students are used to learning in community. It’s no surprise, then, that they thrive in Asbury’s vibrant Christian community — a place where whole-person education is integrated seamlessly with faith. From residence life to small groups, opportunities for community abound at Asbury, cultivating an education that extends far beyond the classroom.

Dual Enrollment

Homeschool students can take advantage of Asbury Academy, a dual enrollment program allowing high school juniors and seniors to take general education requirements at the University level. Students have the option of taking classes on campus or online. The benefits extend beyond credit hours, too: Academy students who take 12 hours of dual enrollment credit and earn a 3.0 cumulative GPA in those classes are awarded a $1,500 Academy Scholars scholarship to Asbury, equaling $6,000 over the course of their four-year degree.

Admissions Resources

Asbury offers specialized resources for homeschool students, including an annual Homeschool Visit Day. This year, homeschool students and families will visit campus on October 20 to connect with faculty members, meet current students who were homeschooled and interact with Admissions staff. The event includes a financial aid seminar, dual-enrollment information, a panel discussion with current students who were homeschooled and much more. Register for Homeschool Visit Day!

Homeschool Transcripts Accepted!

Asbury recognizes homeschool transcripts. We’ve interacted with enough homeschool students to know that they are just as well-prepared as their public and private school counterparts, and we are honored to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments. Never prepared a homeschool transcript before? No worries — contact an Admissions Counselor, and we’ll walk you through the process!

Rolling Admissions

The flexibility of homeschooling means students can finish high school at various points throughout the year. Asbury’s rolling admissions process allows students to apply throughout the year, making it easier for homeschool students and families to incorporate the application process into their family schedule.  Click here to apply to Asbury!
