Asbury Unveils Campaign Naming Opportunities

Naming opportunities allow Asbury alumni and friends to support “Ignited: The Campaign for Asbury University” while honoring those who have invested significantly in their lives.

WILMORE, Ky. — Just in time for the holiday season, Asbury University has unveiled a number of naming opportunities allowing Asbury alumni and friends to make a gift to “Ignited: The Campaign for Asbury University” in honor of a family member, professor, friend or other loved one.

Encompassing facilities, endowed scholarships and current use scholarships, naming opportunities allow Asbury alumni and friends to support crucial areas of Ignited while honoring those who have invested significantly in their lives.

Naming opportunities can be reserved through a multi-year pledge, with the total gift fulfilled over a period not to exceed five years. See a full list of available opportunities, or call (859) 858-3511, ext. 2359 to learn more.

Investing in naming opportunities is great way to support the building of Asbury’s Collaborative Learning Center (CLC), a cutting-edge facility that will bring together programs in Math, Business and Natural and Allied Sciences. The CLC will also provide needed equipment updates, additional space for Asbury’s growing programs and opportunities for students and faculty to collaborate across disciplines.

Student scholarships provide many more naming opportunities, as Asbury seeks to raise $27 million to support endowed scholarships and current use scholarships. Donors can create student scholarships in honor of a faculty member, friend or other loved one while making an Asbury education accessible for generations to come.

Several Ignited naming opportunities are already making significant progress. One initiative, spearheaded by alumnus Jeff Stryker ’87, seeks to raise $2.5 million to name the atrium of the CLC in honor of former professor Don K. Winslow ‘65. Another initiative supports the naming of the Student Center in honor of General Paul A. Rader ’56 (Ret.) and Commissioner Kay Fuller ’57 Rader. Finally, an initiative seeks to name an area of the revitalized Student Center in honor of former Asbury faculty members Alan ’60 (Psychology) and Yvonne Cochran ’58 Moulton (English). Learn about these initiatives and much more in the upcoming issue of the Ambassador, which will be available online in coming weeks.

Charlie Shepard ’99, vice president for Institutional Advancement at Asbury, says Ignited naming opportunities are an outstanding way for Asbury alumni and friends to honor those who came before them while supporting those who will come after.

"There’s one consistent message that emerges as we work with alumni during Ignited, and that is a deep sense of gratitude for those who poured into them while they were young — whether that’s a family member or Asbury faculty member,” Shepard said. “These naming opportunities are a tangible way to express that gratitude publicly while simultaneously supporting Asbury’s bold vision.”
