Chorale to perform in Gloucester Cathedral

The Asbury College chorale will perform in England. WILMORE, KY— The Asbury College Chorale, under the director of Prof. Vicki Bell, has been invited to serve as the resident choir at Gloucester Cathedral, which is featured prominently in many Harry Potter films, in Gloucestershire, England, in May.

The choir will sing daily Evensong where others have performed for nearly 1,000 years, and follow the footsteps of musicians such as Samuel Sebastian Wesley, who served as organist at Gloucester Cathedral in the 19th century. The experience of sharing musical gifts with the congregation and Chapter of Gloucester Cathedral is a unique opportunity for the Asbury College singers as they contribute to the English Cathedral choral tradition.

Following the Cathedral residency, the Asbury Chorale has been invited to perform at Coventry Cathedral, and to present a noonday concert at Bath Abbey during the prestigious Bath International Music Festival. The Chorale left campus May 21 and will return May 31.
