Reunion gift phonathon and registration

WILMORE, KY—When alumni pick up their phones the next few weeks, they might hear a voice from the past. On April 21, 22, 28 and 29, alumni will call their classmates in the Reunion Phonation to invite them to come back to Wilmore in June and to support the 2008 Reunion Class Gift Project.

This year's class gift project will fund three special projects: an online alumni community, lighting for Zweifel Field and the Phyllis West Global Impact Award.

The online alumni community will launch this summer and is an extension of Asbury College’s focus on community. The site will allow alumni to connect with other Asburians around the world. Members will be able to search the alumni directory, update their biographical profiles, register for events, and view, submit and update class notes. The site will also provide lifetime e-mail forwarding services to allow timely communication from the College about news and events.

A state of the art lighting system will be purchased for Zweifel Field to facilitate evening games. Eagles baseball was re-instated this spring. To check out how the team's doing, visit

The Phyllis West Global Impact Award will honor alumni or students who have made a significant impact on the world for Christ. This award began when a New York foundation issued a challenge grant. A portion of the reunion project will match the initial grant and allow the award to be presented at this year’s reunion.

Brothers Matthew ’93 and Andrew ’97 Atkins along with their father Tom ’68 are serving as co-chairs of the reunion project.

If you miss your classmate’s phone call, you can still give. To make a secure gift online, visit and specify 2008 Reunion Gift Project or call toll-free (800) 888-1818, ext. 2136.
