WILMORE, KY—Art student Jodie Nichols from Joplin, Mo., presents Rembrandt: The Translation of a Personal Faith into Visual Art at the University of Kentucky Art Museum’s “Art at Noon” lecture series. Nichols speaks Jan. 9, 2008 at noon at the art museum.
Nichols, a junior art major, researched Abraham’s Sacrifice by Rembrandt Van Rijn during a fall 2007 research seminar under the direction of Dr. Linda Stratford, chair of the art department. Nichols presented at the UK art museum last year, and was asked by the museum director to return.
“This lecture and research has been a wonderful learning experience for me,” Nichols said. “It will be a great experience to have as I apply for graduate school and art museum internships. Not many undergrads get to lecture, especially to be asked by a museum of another school. I’ve very honored to be given this privilege.”
