Asbury College hosts the adventure race
WILMORE, KY—Asbury College’s fifth annual Adventure Challenge is Saturday, October 20 at 9 a.m. Teams will run, canoe, climb, bike and problem-solve their way to the finish line.
The two- to three-hour race, which is sponsored by the student Asbury Outdoors club, will take place on the College’s property atop the Palisades over the Kentucky River. It will include three miles of trail running and hiking over hilly terrain; paddling two miles on the Kentucky River; climbing on high ropes course elements and a special team initiative on the Asbury College ropes challenge course; and five miles of off-road mountain biking.
Both novice and experienced competitors are welcome in coed, male and female classes. Each team member must complete all sections of the race and stay in sight of his or her partner at all times to remain in competition. Entry fees of $45 per person for community members and $30 per person for Asbury College students, faculty, staff and alumni will cover the cost of canoe rentals, prizes and giveaways for competitors.
Two-person teams may register by contacting Trent Ellsworth at (859) 858-3511, ext. 2491.
