Dear Asbury University Family and Friends,
In 1777 the Continental Congress declared the first national day of Thanksgiving a day officially set aside “…for solemn thanksgiving and praise. That with one heart and one voice, good people may express the grateful feelings of their hearts.”
Today and every day, I am grateful for you. Thank you, students; thank you, faculty, staff, administration, amazing alumni and friends, for your involvement at Asbury. You each contribute to the richness of our community and assist us in moving forward the mission of Asbury University.
During this season of gratitude and celebration, we are deeply grateful for the grace of God, for His presence with us, and the many ways He is at work among us. We give thanks for the ways He has led us, sustained us, preserved us and ignited us with His perfect love.
I am thankful for the many ways each of you express God’s grace in your own lives, imitating Jesus in your learning, teaching, giving and serving; in the way you love your neighbors, near and far; in your commitment to impact the world.
We celebrate our family and friends who are with us and are grateful for the rich heritage of those who have gone ahead. Most of all we are thankful for Jesus, who gave His life for us and ever lives to intercede on our behalf, filling us with His love and unspeakable joy.
Sandra C. Gray, President
