WILMORE, Ky. — Asbury University students woke up and headed to class this morning amidst a moving remembrance of those who died in the 9/11 attacks 15 years ago in New York.

Nearly 3,000 American flags dotted Reasoner Green in the center of campus, honoring the civilians, firefighters and police officers who died. The memorial was organized by an Asbury senior who requested not to be named.

“It’s important to remember those who fell in 9/11, as well as the firefighters and police officers who died to save others,” said Seth Padgett ‘17, who serves as a cadet in the Air Force ROTC program at Asbury. “They were perfectly safe, but willingly sacrificed their lives to save others.”

Please join Asbury University as we remember those who died and pray for the peace of Christ in our world.
