Asbury University to Launch Capital Campaign
March 23, 2016
WILMORE, Ky. — During Reunion 2016 in June, Asbury University will publicly launch the most comprehensive capital campaign in its history. Called Ignited, the campaign has already been through a quiet phase under the direction of a steering committee led by alumni Greg Isaacs ’83 and Walt ‘63 and Rowena ‘63 Shaw.
“This is a thrilling time to see the Holy Spirit unlocking God’s resources for His purposes,” Isaacs said. “We are excited for the greater Asbury community as we celebrate this journey, leading more and more people into God’s Kingdom!”
Details about Ignited will be unveiled the evening of June 25 as part of Reunion 2016 (June 23-26). All alumni and friends are encouraged to attend and celebrate Asbury’s bold vision for the future, as well as enjoy the other great activities Asburians have come to love during Reunion each year.
“Two years of hard work by faculty, staff and volunteers will culminate on June 25 with the public launch of Ignited — the Campaign for Asbury University,” said Charlie Shepard ’99, vice president for Institutional Advancement. “The evening will be a symphony of thanksgiving (to God and those through whom He’s working), vision and celebration. If you are a graduate or friend of Asbury, this evening is one you don’t want to miss!”
For President Sandra C. Gray, the launch of Ignited is yet another witness to God’s faithfulness.
“The Lord is ever faithful,” Gray said. “Not only has he provided a significant vision for Asbury University, but he’s raised up the right ‘change-makers’ in alumni and friends to ignite that vision, to give voice to it and to inspire others to get involved. We are excited to share Ignited with the entire Asbury community on June 25!”
