Media Communication students at Asbury University played an important behind-the-scenes role at a ministry event in Lexington, Ky., recently that reached thousands of people with practical leadership training.

Asbury staff, alumni and 10 students helped produce the IMAG video for CATALYST One Day, a conference that features pastors Craig Groeschel of and Andy Stanley of North Point Ministries. IMAG, or image magnification, refers to using multiple cameras to project platform speakers and performers onto video screens that are easier to see in large venues.

By providing camera operators, technical staff, Asbury’s HD Production trailer and years of experience in multi-camera productions, the team provided the opportunity for conference attendees to see as well as hear all the action.

“This event allows us to meet two needs that we highly value,” said Don Mink, operations manager at Asbury. “One is giving students experience in a professional environment. The second is to be able to serve the needs of non-profit ministry groups when opportunities arise.”
