WILMORE, KY—The Colloquium on Mental Health and Religion will be held Saturday, March 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Asbury College campus.

Dr. Everett L. Worthington, clinical psychologist and professor of psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University will be speaking on Forgiveness: Research, Theory and Clinical Practice. Worthington has published 20 books and more than 200 articles and scholarly chapters, on forgiveness, marriage and family topics. He has two new books, Handbook of Forgiveness, a collection of reviews of research from the top researchers in the world, and Forgiving and Reconciling: Bridges to Wholeness and Hope, a Christian-oriented account of his own method of helping people forgive.

He also directs A Campaign for Forgiveness Research (, a non-profit organization that supports research into forgiving and works to build a field of studying forgiveness scientifically.

The annual continuing education event is co-sponsored by the Center for Counseling at Asbury College and the Kentucky Psychological Association. The workshop offers six CEUs for psychologists (Ky. and Ohio), social workers (Ky.), art therapists (Ky.) and professional counselors (Ky.) by the Kentucky Psychological Association (KPA). KPA is approved to offer CEUs by the American Psychological Association, the Kentucky Board of Examiners in Psychology, and the Ohio Psychological Association Office of Mandatory Continuing Education.
