What a joy it is to be back at Asbury University! I graduated from AU in 2012, worked in the Admissions Office for two years, ventured away to new lands for a couple of years, and then returned to Asbury in July, 2016. I grew up in Pennsylvania. But in so many ways, Asbury has become my second home. I sincerely hope that all of my young ladies will also feel that sense of ‘home’ during their time at Asbury.

Kresge Residence Hall was not designed in a traditional dormitory style. The individual suites that surround each unit’s living room space allow women to come together in a comfortable environment outside their rooms. This layout lends itself to cultivating a deeper sense of family. Kresge is made up of 8 halls, each with its own Resident Assistant and Spiritual Life Assistant and its own unique identity. Some of the most memorable times our ladies have are in the units, talking and laughing with the other women on their halls long after a Gather (small-group, devotional time) or other hall-centered event. It’s in those times that they are challenged to live in stronger relationship with the Lord and in deeper community with the people around them.

To all current and future Kresge Ladies: May you feel truly at home here. May you immerse yourselves in the beauty of this community by allowing yourself to accommodate, support, forgive, and love one another as Christ also loves you. Being part of a close community such as ours is genuinely wonderful, but it can also be demanding at times. By choosing to engage intentionally with the women in your units, however, you will have a unique and priceless opportunity to experience the richness of sharing life together throughout your college years.

The Kresge staff and I are here to serve, challenge, encourage, and love you through it all. Welcome to the Kresge family!
