Short Film Created by Student to Show on KET

A short film by Asbury senior Nathaniel Winckler has been selected to appear on KET’s show “Reel Visions: Spotlight on Kentucky Filmmakers.”

Airdates for the episode of “Reel Visions” that will include the film, titled “Charged,” are March 24 (5 p.m. EST) and March 28 (10:31 p.m. and midnight EST).

“Charged” is an animated, musical look at the relationship between a bee and a special friend. Last spring, Winckler was recognized by the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with a Student Production award (also known as a Student Emmy) for his work on “Charged.”

However, “Charged” is not Winckler’s first film to gain recognition. In 2012, he created “Twirl,” another animated short that went on to screen at Chicago International Children’s Festival, the Philadelphia Film & Animation Festival and the Louisville Festival of Film.
