Worship Arts Camp (CLOSED)

Please note: ImpactU 2023’s Worship Arts Camp is closed to new registrations.

The Worship Arts camp at Asbury University will be a chance for students to deepen their faith, increase skills at worship leading, and connect with fellow worshippers and worship leaders. The camp will be hands-on and experiential, culminating in a night of worship led by the campers.

Cost

The camp is $550 per person, and includes food, lodging, and all expenses.

What you can expect

Each worship arts participant can expect to growth through:

  • Development of a Biblical philosophy of worship.
  • Participating in worship bands on a daily basis.
  • Instruction in musical techniques on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums and/or vocals.
  • Exploration of the history of Christian worship and contemporary issues in the church.
  • Increased knowledge about live sound and recording in worship.

About your instructor

Worship leader, composer, guitarist, and educator Dan Pinkston is involved in diverse musical pursuits, including composing chamber, orchestral and choral music, performing as a rock, blues and jazz guitarist and as a worship leader. Pinkston served churches in California as worship leader for eighteen years before coming to Asbury University as Professor of Worship Arts. 

Born and raised in Ivory Coast, West Africa, but having lived and worked in the United States for 30 years, Pinkston brings a global perspective to his music. He has led worship and/or had music presented in Africa, Europe, South America, Asia and in numerous locations across the United States.

Pinkston’s achievements include non-musical exploits as well, in particular the completion of an Ironman distance triathlon, numerous marathons and over 60 long distance urban hikes (pinkstonurbanhiker on Instagram).
