Science & Health Department

Explore the intricacies of the natural world and the human body in a research-driven, collaborative community.

Asbury University’s Science & Health department is known for a rigorous academic program that leaves students well-prepared for the steps ahead. The 250+ students in the Science & Health Department majors enjoy highly personalized research opportunities on campus and at other research centers around the world.

Foundations courses prepare students to engage culture and maintain social responsibility, while each of the 12 majors and 7 minors in the department prepare students for a life of productive learning and living in practicing the scientific method and scientific discovery.

Our Equine Program leaves graduates ready for Veterinary School or a variety of other careers in the industry.

The Adventure Education & Leadership major offers hands-on training and the courses offer certifications necessary to excel in the industry, while teaching the importance of environmental stewardship.

Graduates from our Exercise Science major have an excellent reputation and some have gone on to be physical therapists, certified personal trainers and professors.

Students majoring in our natural sciences have incredible scores on their field tests and a high acceptance rate into graduate and medical school.

Many of our students can attribute their success to our invested faculty. There is 1 faculty advisor for every 18 students, and the average in-seat class size is 13. Our community spans the globe. Current students are studying abroad and many alums serve on the mission field, but the classes, labs and events our faculty invest in here on campus create the home from which they all set forth.
