Collegium Musicum heads to Italy

WILMORE, KY—The Collegium Musicum Vocal Ensemble will travel to Italy, May 16-27. More than 35 current students, alumni and professors will tour and perform in Rome, Palestrina and Florence.

Music concerts

The first performance will be a joint concert with the Palestrina Singers at the Church of St. Agapito on May 19 at 7:30 p.m.

The group will then travel to Rome were recent graduates Nathan Davy and Lisa Hall are performing an organ concert at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 8:30 p.m. on May 21. The next day the group will have two performances. They will participate in Mass at the Basilica of St. Peter at 5 p.m. and then host an evening concert in St. Ingatius Church at 9 p.m.  On May 23, the group will participate in a Mass celebration at 6 p.m. at St. Maria Maggiore.

On May 24, the ensemble departs for Florence where they will participate in Mass in the Cathedral of St. Maria Del Fiore at 6 p.m. The next evening they will have their final performance of the trip at San Gaetano Church at 7 p.m.

“This will be a wonderful experience for our students, professors and alumni,” said Carolyn Ridley, alumni director.
